Aon survey indicates high hiring intent for chartered accountants and company secretaries

A campus study report by professional services firm Aon revealed that 56 per cent of organisations plan to increase hiring of Chartered Accountants and Company Secretaries, recording the highest net hiring intent at +45 points.

While demand for CA and CS professionals rises, ICAI data showed that registrations for the CA Final exam dropped from 132,007 in May 2017 to 81,852 for the September 2025 attempt.

Women accounted for approximately 41 per cent of registrations in May 2025 compared to 35 per cent in May 2015, reflecting an increasing share of female candidates in a shrinking overall pool.
