The Central Bureau of Investigation registered an FIR on Sunday following the Bombay High Court's September 2 order to probe the 2020 death of celebrity manager Disha Salian.
The complainant, Satish Salian, alleged his daughter was gang-raped and murdered before a cover-up involving police officers, while the FIR does not name any accused.
The high court previously found the initial accidental death report inquiry inadequate and ordered the central agency to investigate the circumstances of the case.
