Delhi T20I Between India and Afghanistan to Proceed as Scheduled

The Delhi District Cricket Association confirmed the first T20I between India and Afghanistan will proceed on September 13, 2026, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium despite initial security concerns.

Delhi Police had requested rescheduling due to the BRICS Summit, citing the need for extensive traffic management for 25,000 to 35,000 expected spectators and VVIP route regulations.

While the DDCA maintains the match date is unchanged, sources indicate ongoing discussions regarding a potential one-day postponement to align with the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
