Zheng Qinwen Becomes First Chinese Winner of China Open

Zheng Qinwen defeated Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-4 in the final to become the first home player to win the China Open.

Playing as a wildcard entry, the 54th-ranked Zheng claimed her first title since October 2024 and her first career WTA 1000 level trophy.

With her run to the final, Andreeva is set to rise to a career-high world number three ranking in women's tennis.
