Lovlina Borgohain wins Asian Games gold medal in women's 75kg boxing

Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain won the Asian Games gold medal in the women's 75kg category on her birthday by defeating China's Ziyi 5-0 in the final on Friday.

Her campaign in the eight-boxer draw included a 5-0 win against Korea's Seong Su-yeon in the quarter-finals and a 3-2 split-decision victory over world champion Natalya Bogdanova.

With next year's World Championships offering qualifying quota places for the Los Angeles Olympics, head coach Santiago Nieva stated that her next target is the Worlds.
