Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić Resigns Amid Anti-Corruption Protests

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vučić resigned on Sunday following more than a year of student-led protests and public outrage over government corruption and infrastructure safety.

The resignation triggers constitutional requirements for a presidential election within three months, meaning Serbians will vote twice before the end of the year alongside snap parliamentary polls.

Parliamentary Speaker Ana Brnabić will serve as interim president, while Vučić campaigns as his party's prime ministerial candidate against anti-corruption and pro-Western opposition movements.
