India and China Hold First Corps Commander Talks in Arunachal

Indian and Chinese armies conducted their first Corps Commander-level meeting in the Eastern Sector on September 6, 2026, at the Vacha-Damai Border Personnel Meeting Point in Arunachal Pradesh.

Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, Commander of the 3 Corps, led a 12-member Indian delegation to address ongoing tensions in the Taksing area of the Upper Subansiri district.

The dialogue precedes the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, scheduled for September 11 to 13, where Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to attend.
