Security agencies in Manipur alerted the Centre that at least 150 Kuki militants are missing from the Mount Sinai designated camp in Kangpokpi district.
Forces inspected the camp following the killing of three Meitei woodcutters and arrested 17 people whose identities did not match official records, seizing 24 automatic weapons and ammunition.
Police remanded the 17 arrested individuals to eight days of police custody until October 31 as investigations examine potential violations of Suspension of Operation ground rules.
