Rescue teams clear debris in Nepal tunnel to reach trapped workers

Rescue teams at Nepal's Chilime hydropower project have cleared 70 metres of debris inside a tunnel as they advance towards six trapped workers.

India's Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, stated that heavy machinery was deployed to clear the mud and advance toward the underground powerhouse.

The rescue effort follows devastating flash floods and mudslides triggered by an ice-rock avalanche near the Nepal-Tibet border.
