VFX expert CB Arun Kumar has called for stricter laws mandating bold labelling of artificial intelligence content on social media following the misuse of actors' likenesses in deepfakes.
Actresses including Janhvi Kapoor and Keerthy Suresh have previously expressed shock and threatened legal action after seeing their faces used in objectionable AI videos.
Kumar noted that while illegal deepfakes require legal action, a blanket criticism of artificial intelligence is foolish since true artists can use AI as a productive pipeline tool.
