
Renowned experimental filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao died at Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Saturday night at the age of 94.
Spanning six decades across five languages, his acclaimed filmography featured diverse innovations including the dialogue-free black comedy Pushpaka Vimanam and Telugu's first time-travel movie Aditya 369.
He received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for Pushpaka Vimanam and continued directing projects into his nineties.
