Tear Gas Fired As Nationwide Protests And School Blockades Grow Across France

Hundreds of thousands of protesters marched across France on Tuesday as student-led demonstrations over school conditions spread to parents, university students and unions.

Police used tear gas in Paris and Marseille, water cannon in Rennes, and clashed with demonstrators, while the interior ministry reported 6,547 arrests since September 28.

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu reported that 215 students, 85 staff, and 715 police officers had been injured since the movement began.
