The Olympic Council of Asia confirmed on Sunday that the India-Pakistan men's cricket final and hockey semi-final became the most-watched matches in Asian Games history.
India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the cricket final to defend their crown and triumphed 4-3 in the hockey semi-final before securing gold and a Los Angeles Olympics berth.
OCA officials also noted that the Aichi-Nagoya edition saw 54 world records broken while addressing logistical complaints regarding alternative accommodation for 17,000 athletes.
