Macron Holds Emergency Meeting as Wildfires Threaten Bordeaux

Flames have reached within 15km of the city, which houses 850,000 people, while over 300,000 residents have been forced to flee their homes across France and Spain due to record-breaking heatwaves.

Interior Minister Laurent Nunez reported that the blazes remained stable overnight, though authorities remain on high alert as new heatwave forecasts threaten to exacerbate the crisis later this week.
