Nepal Observes National Day of Mourning for 1,355 Flood Victims

Nepal observed a national day of mourning on Monday to commemorate the 1,355 victims of a flash flood disaster that struck the Himalayan border region with Tibet.

Official data confirms 1,287 deaths in Nepal and 31 in Tibet, with over 5,000 people still missing nearly two weeks after the glacial collapse triggered the catastrophe.

President Ram Chandra Paudel toured the devastated areas as rescue operations continue across ground, air, and tunnel sites, with only four survivors recovered in recent days.
