The Ministry of Electronics and IT has cleared 31 project proposals under the Electronic Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), totaling an investment of ₹7,877 crore.
Key beneficiaries include Kaynes, a Micromax subsidiary, and Wipro, with plants expected to go live shortly to boost domestic production capabilities.
This initiative is part of the 'Make in India' push to reduce reliance on imported electronic components and strengthen the local supply chain ecosystem.
