Jamia Millia Islamia shut down the Dr Zakir Husain Library and the Old Library due to security concerns amid ongoing protests demanding the restoration of the students' union.
The protests escalated after demonstrators were allegedly forcibly evicted from the campus garden where three students had launched a hunger strike on October 12.
The administration stated that demonstrations near gate no 7 disrupted academic activities, while protesting students denounced the library closures as an anti-democratic move.
