Producer Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment has been appointed as a member of the Tamil Nadu HR & CE temple trustee committee for a two-year term.
The committee, which oversees temples with an annual income of ₹10 lakh or more, is headed by Thavathiru Sivagnana Balaya Swamigal and includes retired IAS officer PR Sampath.
The appointment, effective from July 24, 2026, has drawn public debate regarding the inclusion of film industry figures in government-appointed religious administrative roles.
