The US government suspended eight major IT companies, including Infosys, Wipro, Microsoft, and Adobe, from the PERM labour certification programme on Thursday over alleged fraud.
Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling announced that the Department of Labor will halt both new and pending permanent labour certification applications involving the suspended firms.
The suspension aims to encourage companies to hire more American workers, with US Vice President JD Vance stating that major firms must ensure they employ domestic talent.
