Canadian PM Carney says citizens will decide future after Elon Musk backs separation

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada's future will be decided by Canadians, pushing back against Elon Musk's call for provincial separation.

Mr. Musk posted on X supporting separation for Quebec, Alberta and Saskatchewan after the Parti Québécois won the Quebec provincial election.

Alberta is scheduled to hold a vote on October 19 on whether to remain in Canada, while Premier Danielle Smith stated she will vote to remain.
