A government-led Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment estimated that Nepal's recent flash floods have resulted in USD 4.7 billion in recovery and reconstruction needs.

The floods, triggered by an August 26 ice-rock avalanche in the Himalayas near the Nepal-Tibet border, killed around 1,400 people while over 5,000 remain missing across districts including Rasuwa and Nuwakot.
