Raj Thackeray’s MNS party has protested the Mumbai civic body's (BMC) ₹1.5 crore plan to replace existing official vehicles by sending toy cars to municipal offices.
The proposal to upgrade the fleet was initiated after BJP leaders in the BMC claimed their current Scorpio SUVs were causing back pain, sparking widespread criticism.
Opposition parties, including Congress, have condemned the expenditure as unnecessary, demanding transparency and uniformity in how public funds are allocated for official transport.
