The Karnataka Cabinet withdrew a Bill that would have permitted 5% of park land to be used for infrastructure projects following a campaign by the BJP.
Opposition leader R Ashoka claimed the withdrawal as a victory for the 'Save Parks, Save Bengaluru' campaign, which aimed to protect green spaces from potential tunnel road projects.
The BJP noted this as their second political win in five days, following the recent resignation of Bellary MLA B Nagendra from the state cabinet over a corruption scam.
