The committee warned that failure to comply could result in the withdrawal of 'safe harbour' immunity, which currently protects the platform from legal liability for user-generated content.

Government officials are scheduled to meet with Meta's global team in India on August 5-6 to address broader concerns regarding child safety and AI-generated content lapses.
