PM Modi Offers Forgiveness to Students Involved in Recent Protests

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced he forgives students who used abusive language against him and his late mother during the youth-led Cockroach protest movement last month.

The protests, which began in May after a major exam leak forced over two million students to resit, resulted in mass demonstrations across India and the resignation of the education minister.

Despite the government's pledge to drop cases, hundreds of students remain arrested in various states, while the opposition continues to demand the removal of Home Minister Amit Shah.
