Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile attack targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Thursday, causing explosions across the Saudi capital.
Major General Turki al-Malki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, stated that air defenses intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched toward Riyadh and one toward Khamis Mushait.
Saudi Arabia's civil defence agency reported that falling shrapnel from an intercepted missile caused material damage to a kindergarten and a medical complex in Riyadh.
