India Demands UN Map Correctly Depict J&K and Ladakh

India stated on September 6, 2026, that any UN-backed world map must depict Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in accordance with India's official map.

The demand follows the adoption of a UN General Assembly resolution on September 4, which received 164 votes in favor, aimed at promoting accurate continental landmass representation.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal clarified that the resolution does not endorse specific political boundaries, emphasizing that India's position on its sovereign territory remains non-negotiable.
