AIIMS and IAV scientists develop dengue early warning forecasting system

Scientists at the Institute of Advanced Virology in Keralam developed a machine-learning Dengue Early Warning System (DEWS) to predict weekly district-wise case trends.

The platform integrates six years of epidemiological data with weather factors like rainfall, temperature, and humidity to assist public health managers proactively.

Evaluations using State Surveillance Unit data indicate the model's potential, though climate fluctuations and under-reporting remain challenges.
