The Delhi Police department has issued new directives for personnel to maintain silence and avoid engagement with protesters to prevent the creation of viral content.
Officers are instructed to ignore provocations, including emotional appeals, mockery, or filming, and must respond only with the phrase, 'Please cooperate, we are doing our duty'.
The guidelines follow recent Jantar Mantar protests where content creators recorded police reactions, leading to the new policy against aggressive responses like snatching phones or shouting.
