12 Weapons Stolen from Secunderabad Army Facility; Security Alert Issued

Twelve firearms, including four AK-203 assault rifles, were stolen from the 20 Madras Regiment premises in Secunderabad, prompting a high-security alert in the cantonment area.

The theft, discovered at 7:50 a.m. on August 31, 2026, also involved the loss of 1,800 rounds of ammunition and a night-vision binocular, with total damages estimated at ₹15 lakh.

Bollarum police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, while local schools have been advised to conduct classes online as authorities investigate potential internal involvement.
