US President Donald Trump and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping met for talks at the White House on Thursday, followed by a high-profile state dinner attended by major US technology and business leaders.
The agenda included trade and a two-month extension of the temporary trade truce announced by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, alongside discussions on Taiwan and advanced semiconductor restrictions.
Xi arrived in the US on Wednesday and was welcomed by Trump at Joint Base Andrews at the start of his three-day visit.
