The Trump administration suspended Microsoft from the Labor Department's PERM program over allegations of replacing American workers with cheaper foreign labor.
Microsoft disputed the claims, stating that 80% of its roughly 6,000 H-1B filings last fiscal year were to extend existing employees' status.
Vice President JD Vance said the suspension followed an investigation finding Microsoft laid off about 6,000 American workers while employing around 6,300 H-1B visa holders.
