
The India Meteorological Department issued a red alert for Gujarat and parts of Maharashtra on 31 July 2026 due to a deep depression moving westwards.
Widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are expected across 33 districts, including Ahmedabad, Surat, and Kutch, until 2 August 2026.
The weather agency warned fishermen against venturing off the south Gujarat coast until 3 August and issued flash flood alerts for nine districts including Vadodara and Anand.
