
The Lok Sabha passed the Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026 and the National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026 on August 11, 2026, via voice vote.
Ministers Nityanand Rai and Murlidhar Mohol moved the respective bills for passage while Opposition members protested in the well of the House over student unrest and alleged Ram Temple donation theft.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated the government was prepared for a discussion on the student protests, but the Congress party walked out of the proceedings.
