Broward County Public Schools is considering the closure of 10 additional campuses for the next school year following a decline of over 13,000 students in total enrollment.
Superintendent Howard Hepburn stated that the district is spending more on operating underenrolled schools than on student education, necessitating the potential consolidation.
The list of schools under consideration includes Silver Lakes Elementary, Forest Glen Middle, and William Dandy Middle, with public input meetings scheduled to begin next Tuesday.
