Mirabai Chanu wins silver in Nagoya to secure India's first Asian Games weightlifting medal since 1998

Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal in the women's 49kg category at the Asian Games in Nagoya on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old lifted a total of 198 kg, comprising 87 kg in snatch and 111 kg in clean and jerk, finishing behind North Korea's Ri Song-gum.

Chanu became India's first Asian Games weightlifting medallist since Karnam Malleswari won silver in Bangkok in 1998.
