US House to vote on Russia sanctions bill giving Trump tariff powers

The US House Rules Committee will vote on Monday on the Lindsey O Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, which was passed by the Senate last month.

The bill would empower President Donald Trump to impose stricter sanctions on Russia and buyers of its oil and gas, extend Iran sanctions, and add tariffs on trading partners including India.

House Democrats have strongly opposed the bill, arguing it expands presidential tariff authority while failing to mandate Russian sanctions and raising prices for Americans.
