Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen won the Delhi University Students' Union vice-president post with 30,615 votes, marking an independent's return to the central panel after 17 years.
Shokeen contested independently after failing to secure an NSUI ticket, defeating ABVP candidate Ishu Maurya by a wide margin.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad swept the remaining DUSU positions, securing three out of the four central panel seats, including the presidency won by Yash Dabas.
