Supreme Court Rejects Extension for Aravalli Panel, Sets November Deadline

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant rejected a six-month extension request from the Supreme Court-appointed high-powered committee defining the Aravalli hills and range.

The court set a strict final deadline of November 30, 2026, for the five-member panel headed by Kanchan Devi to submit its final report.

The bench mandated that the committee work continuously and hear all local stakeholders, including tribal communities in Rajasthan and Gujarat, before finalising recommendations.
