72nd National Film Awards Ceremony Likely to Move to Gujarat

The 72nd National Film Awards ceremony is expected to be held in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, marking a departure from the tradition of hosting the event in New Delhi.

President Droupadi Murmu is likely to present the awards during her visit to the state later this month, near the site of the Statue of Unity.

The awards, announced in July 2026, recognized films from 2024, with Article 370 winning Best Feature Film and Mammootty and Kartik Aaryan sharing the Best Actor award.
