Alexandra Eala Wins Historic WTA Singles Title at DC Open

Alexandra Eala became the first Filipino to win a WTA Tour-level singles title by defeating top seed Jessica Pegula 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 at the Mubadala DC Open.

The 21-year-old rallied from a set down in a weather-disrupted final that concluded on Monday, winning 10 of the final 13 games to secure the victory.

In the men's final, American Taylor Fritz claimed his 11th career ATP title by defeating 19-year-old Rafael Jodar 7-6(2), 6-4, marking his first title of 2026.
