Delhi Police de-notifies Jantar Mantar following Supreme Court suggestion

Delhi Police de-notified Jantar Mantar as a designated protest site on October 12 following a Supreme Court bench order urging the government to find a spacious alternative.

The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant noted on October 9 that central Delhi lacked essential basic amenities like washrooms and drinking water for protesters.

Ramlila Maidan, Burari ground, and CBD ground in East Delhi have been designated as new protest venues under guidelines issued by Delhi Police.
