Israelis voted on Tuesday in a tense national election viewed as a referendum on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's leadership since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack.
Opinion polls indicate a tight race between Netanyahu's bloc and a rival faction led by former military chief Gadi Eisenkot, requiring post-election coalition negotiations.
Netanyahu's lengthy political career is on the line, while voters and observers monitor polling stations across the country amid deep security concerns.
