The U.S. Justice Department found on Thursday that the UCLA School of Law illegally considered race in student admissions across its recent incoming classes.
Investigators reported that the law school discriminated against white and Asian American students by favoring Black and Hispanic applicants in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
The UCLA School of Law defended its process in a statement, emphasizing that it uses a comprehensive, merit-based review complying with applicable laws.
