Tamil Nadu Forest Department Probes Actor Vikram Over Lar Gibbon Video

The Tamil Nadu Forest Department is investigating actor Vikram after a viral video showed him interacting with a Lar Gibbon, a species listed in Appendix I of CITES.

Wildlife Warden Yogesh Kulal confirmed the animal was moved from businessman C.K. Ranganathan’s residence in Injambakkam to Erode for verification of ownership documents.

Authorities are tracing the animal's origin to a 2020 stock declaration in Manipur and are examining whether all statutory transfer requirements were met.
