Sonam Wangchuk to Lead Symbolic March in Leh for Ladakh's Rights

Activist Sonam Wangchuk will lead a 20-km symbolic march in Leh on September 23, 2026, advocating for Ladakh’s culture, environment, and democratic rights.

The march was rescheduled due to inclement weather and the political atmosphere, with a martyrs’ day event planned for September 24.

This follows protests last year where four civilians died, leading to Wangchuk's detention under the National Security Act.
