Amazon initiated another round of white-collar layoffs affecting fewer than 1,000 employees globally, including personnel in India, the US, and the UK.
The company stated that the reductions target structural adjustments within its Stores business rather than being driven entirely by artificial intelligence automation.
The latest downsizing follows previous multi-thousand corporate restructuring rounds enacted by CEO Andy Jassy to eliminate management layers.
