The ICC has officially moved the inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy from Sri Lanka to India, citing logistical and financial concerns that cost the Sri Lankan board an estimated ₹188 crore.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in February 2027, with the BCCI confirming it is fully prepared to host the event across multiple Indian venues.
This decision marks a significant shift in the women's cricket calendar, as India prepares to showcase its infrastructure for the first-ever edition of this global championship.
