India's Ashmita Chaliha secured the biggest win of her career by defeating three-time champion and world No. 2 Akane Yamaguchi at the French Open.
The southpaw from Assam won the second-round match 21-19, 21-18, becoming the first Indian shuttler after PV Sindhu to beat the world No. 2.
The victory serves as a comeback milestone and revenge for Chaliha following her defeat to Yamaguchi at the Denmark Open last week.
