A military fighter jet bombed a monastery in Swel Le Oh village, Myanmar, on Friday, killing 14 people, including three women, and injuring 20 others during a Buddhist Lent retreat.
The attack occurred in the Sagaing region, a stronghold of armed resistance, where over 100 people were gathered at the site located 75 kilometres west of Mandalay.
This incident follows a reported escalation in aerial attacks by the military government, which has been in power since the February 2021 coup that displaced 5.2 million people nationwide.
